The next World Tai Chi-Qigong Day in Central Park will take place on the last Saturday in April. Everyone is invited to participate no matter what style of Tai Chi or Qigong you do.

The location of the event is Central Park’s East Meadow, which is just north of 97th Street and immediately west of Fifth Avenue. Click here for a PDF map..

Individuals unattached to a group
need not pre-register to participate
in the event. GROUPS MUST
PRE-REGISTER EACH YEAR
to participate in World Tai Chi-Qigong
Day in Central Park.

Registration Information

To pre-register, please supply the following information on your group:

  • Name, address and contact information (phone, fax and email) of your group as you would like it to appear in the program.
  • The name of the style of Tai Chi or Quigong your group practices as you would like it to appear in the program.
  • How many from your school/group do you think might attend.
  • The name of the person who will coordinate for your group and their contact information (address, phone, fax and email).
  • What might your group like to do, if anything, for the special demonstrations, including title of demonstration, length of demonstration, names of individual(s) demonstrating, as you would like the information to appear in the program.

Schedule of Events

9:30 - 9:45 AM – Assembly – Tai Chi and Qigong practitioners assemble in assigned group locations; to locate your group’s area request your group’s “Locator Card” from a member of the Richard Jesaitis School of Classical Tai Chi Chuan. Individuals should request the location of the “Visitor’s Area”.

10:00 - 10:30 AM – Mass Demonstration – Beginning at the stroke of 10:00 AM, all Tai Chi and Qigong groups simultaneously perform their key forms, exhibiting all the different styles.

10:30 AM - 12:30 PM – Special Demonstrations – Selected teachers and advanced students demonstrate many seldom-seen advanced forms, traditional weapons and special techniques.

12:30 - 12:45 PM – Communication – Interviews and open communications between news media, guests and participants.

12:45 - 1:00 – Cleanup
