Bill Douglas, a man with a wonderful vision and a strong sense of purpose, created World Tai Chi-Qigong Day.

In each and ever time zone around the world, at ten o’clock in the morning, the last Saturday in April, immediately following the United Nation’s World Health Day, Tai Chi and Qigong practitioners of all styles and schools join together to celebrate the Chinese martial arts exercises believed to promote good health and decrease stress.

This international wave begins in the earliest time zone and then sweeps around the world. Gently and effortlessly the peoples of the world are linked together, breathing in a purposeful and educating relay of calm. As the event blooms around the Earth time zone by time zone, it changes the world forever. In 2002, more than 3,000 events were organized worldwide in 80 countries and in 46 states in the USA.

Mr. Douglas’s goals are: 1) to educate the world to the profound implications Tai Chi and Qigong can offer our personal, social and world health; 2) to thank the Chinese culture for providing this powerful health science to the world; 3) to improve world relations by joining Tai Chi and Qigong practitioners around the world to promote and celebrate a healthier world; and, 4) to provide a mighty example of how the emerging power of the Internet can be used to promote world cooperation and health.

The World
Tai Chi-Qigong Day event is always
held on the last Saturday in April.
